Joanne Perry, 73
Joanne, a woman whose life has been a tapestry of adventure and resilience, is currently facing a terminal diagnosis with unwavering courage. From her short time in the Air Force in the UK as a young adult to her father's legacy, a World War II fighter pilot, the skies have always held a special place in her heart. One of her favourite activities is to share that love with her youngest grandchild, 10, by visiting the flight simulator at the Discovery Centre. Now, in the wake of her cancer diagnosis, her ultimate wish emerged: to take flight once more, but this time in a helicopter with her three beloved children by her side to create one final memory together.
As they navigate the delicate balance between hope and acceptance, Joanne's family seeks to grant her this final longing, knowing that each moment in the air will be a tribute to a life lived with boundless spirit and unyielding grace. During this difficult time, they are reminded of the indelible mark their mom has had on their lives, her legacy of love and adventure soaring higher than any helicopter could ever reach. Thanks to Vision Air Services Inc., Joanne’s lifelong wish to fly in a helicopter finally came true and it was a moment she and her children deeply cherished.
Joanne’s life motto has always been to “wake up grateful and not waste any moments." We could all use it as a reminder to live life to the fullest and seize every opportunity as they come.
